Dixon Rumors

Over the last month, rumors have swirled about the possibility of Baylor head coach Art Briles leaving to fill the vacant Texas Tech position - rumors that Briles himself squashed on the first day of the new year.
"I am proud to be a Baylor Bear and remain committed to making this program a source of pride for the Baylor family," said Briles in a Baylor press release last Friday. "Our coaching staff is excited to finish this recruiting class strong and start preparations for the 2010 season."

Since that time, however, more rumors have arisen about the possibility of blue chip safety Ahmad Dixon - Baylor highest rated recruit - decommitting from Baylor to allegedly head off for either Alabama, Auburn, Texas Tech, or even USC. According to Kent Bachtel, Dixon's head coach at Midway who recently retired, those rumors are unfounded.
"Ahmad is going to Baylor," Bachtel said, adding that Alabama isn't even on Dixon's list anymore. "You're going to hear everything"
Dixon heads up a Baylor defensive back class that ranks 8th nationally that was recently bolstered by the commitment of Prince Kent and the reaffirmation by Tyler Stephenson regarding his solid commitment to the Baylor Bears.
