In this odd to very odd 2017 recruiting cycle for Baylor, there have been only a few positive moments for the Bears. One of those moments came in late July when Clear Creek defensive back Noah Daniels verbally committed to the Baylor coaches.

This was not a situation where his only offer was from Baylor, in fact Daniels had over 20-plus scholarship offers when he committed to the Bears and has continued to received new offers over the past 3-4 months.

Daniels remains committed to Baylor, but is beginning to learn more about his other options before National Signing Day next February.

"The Oklahoma coaches got in touch with me earlier today," Daniels said. "They are looking for another corner and another safety in their class, so we setup an official visit and I'm going up there in a few weeks for the Bedlam game against Oklahoma State. We just started talking today, but I think there might be an offer coming from them.

"I also took an unofficial visit to TCU last month. I don't have the date setup, but I'm planning to take an official to TCU as well. My only other planned visit right now is to Utah on Jan. 13th. Besides those schools, I'm also talking with the Oklahoma State and Colorado coaches."

The standout corner is also planning an official visit to Waco for next month.

"I spoke with Coach (Carlton) Buckels and we are planning something in December," Daniels said. "I still talk with Coach Buckels every day, he is the only coach that I speak with from Baylor. We mostly keep in touch, continue getting to know one another.

"Coach and I don't really talk about the situation or anything like that. We have a really good relationship and I'm going to just continue learning more about my options while seeing what happens at Baylor."

The next two months will be important for both Daniels and Baylor. He will continue looking into his other options and the Bears will most likely name a new head coach.

"I will make a final decision after taking all of my visits," Daniels said. "I'm going to take my time and talk things over with my family, but it will be sometime in January."

Rated a 5.3 two-star prospect, Daniels holds over 20 offers from programs across the country.
