Bernard set to visit Baylor

La Porte (Texas) outside linebacker Terrel Bernard already holds 10 offers from programs across the country, including an offer from the Baylor coaches back on Jan. 22nd.

Bernard could not make the program's first junior day, but remained in touch with the Baylor coaches and is now set to visit for the Friday Night Lights scrimmage on March 18th.

"I probably started talking with the Baylor coaches about a month ago," Bernard said. "I'm setup to visit for their Friday Night Lights scrimmage on March 18th, and I know the coaches want to show me more about the program when I visit.

"Coach (Carlton) Buckels and Coach (Jim) Gush are recruiting me from Baylor. We haven't talked a lot about the things they like about my game, but both coaches feel that I could fit into the defense at Baylor."

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect shared more about what he is looking for when visiting the Baylor program.

"I'm mostly going to look at the relationship with the coaches," Bernard said. "I want to see the atmosphere and meet the other players, the other recruits. I talk with some of the current Baylor commits every now and then. Hez (Jones) is a receiver commit and we have talked a little bit, and he meet up for the visit."

Bernard is also planning a few other visits this off-season.

"I'm possibly setting up a visit to Texas Tech for one of their spring practices," Bernard said. "I would like to setup a visit to Northwestern, but that is the only other possible visit right now. I'm going to the Nike Regional camp in Houston on April 3rd as well."

Rated a three-star prospect, Bernard is the No. 97 prospect on the Rivals.com Texas Postseason Top 100 for the 2017 class. He earned District 21-6A All-District First Team Defense honors this season.
