Bears Hunt down East Texas for DE

What's in a name?
Well when it comes to Baylor's likely last addition to the 2015 class, the last name really embodies what it took for the Bears to find him.

The Baylor defensive coaching staff was on the Hunt for another defensive end. It found then-UT-San Antonio defensive end Tyrone Hunt about two weeks ago. Prior to then, there had been really no contact. On the day the Bears offered Hunt, he was about to go out….hunting.
Tucking in a small East Texas community just south of Tyler, Baylor secured the commitment of the 19th member of the class when Hunt committed. He is expected to sign his national letter of intent on Wednesday. Hunt de-committed from UTSA - he committed to the Roadrunners back in August - earlier in the week and his first trip to Baylor for his official visit this past weekend.
"Really, the whole thing is shocking,'' Hunt said. "I've always wanted to go to Baylor. And to have this opportunity is amazing. You don't get big schools coming to our place, so I know this is something that I'm very fortunate to have happen.''
Hunt (6-5, 235) had been a three-starter for the Tigers out of District 8-3A Division II. He's fairly new to defense after beginning his career at right tackle as a sophomore. But something signaled this wasn't going to be a typical player. Hunt said he twice the pancake award beating out several seniors.
That's when it made sense to put him at defense. Hunt started to split his time as a junior. Then he signaled his future was likely on this side in 2014 when he collected 27 negatives that were blended between tackles for loss, sacks and quarterback hurries (14 TFL, six sacks, seven hurries).
Stats aside, Baylor knows there is a foundation. It's probably going to take some time including a trip to strength and conditioning program led by Kaz Kazadi. Arp believes he can play in college at 275 pounds.
"They liked that I am a hard worker and that I played fast and physical,'' Hunt said. "They think I have the strength to be able to move the line around and be able to push. I got a lot of double teams, but I still managed.''
Hunt does have a plan for when he graduates from Baylor. He wants to major in architecture.
"Everything really impressed me, the dorm rooms, the stadium and the facilities,'' Hunt said. "I'm looking forward to be a part of it.''
