Over the past few years, the Baylor coaching staff has started to widen their geographic reach when it comes to recruiting and making new offers outside of the state. The foundation of Art Briles' program will always be built on Texas talent, but the success of the program has enabled the coaching staff to garner some interest from a handful of out of state talent at the very least.

Rock Hill (South Carolina) Northwestern defensive end Logan Rudolph picked up an offer from the Baylor coaches last Monday, offer No. 34 for the standout defender.

"They offered the other night, Coach (Cris) Achuff just reach out and that was our first contact," Rudolph said. "He followed me on Twitter and asked me to call him, then he offered me. We talked about the school, the program's history, and where they are trying to take the program.

"Coach Achuff also asked me about my recruitment, how things were going, and when I could possibly get out there for a visit. My brother, Mason, plays in the Big 12 conference for Oklahoma State. I have been to several of his games and watched some of the games against Baylor. Coach (Art) Briles has completely turned the program around and they are very good right now. I would love to visit sometime this off-season."

Logan gets asked about his brother and the potential of attending Oklahoma State all the time. But that doesn't bother the standout prospect. He is just enjoying the process and wants to find the best fit for himself.

"It's a blessing to be in this position," Rudolph said. "Mostly because this is my first year on defense, but I'm not taking any of this for granted. I'm just trying to enjoy myself and plan to make the best decision for me.

"I haven't thought too much about when I would like to make a commitment. My parents and I are still talking about a time frame, but I have some more visits to take and I'm going to choose wherever feels like home."

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect is still planning some of his off-season visits, but has already taken several unofficial visits so far during the process.

"I went to Florida and Florida State last weekend," Rudolph said. "I also went to the Kentucky game against Florida this season. I also attended games at Clemson and Oklahoma State this season.

"I will be at Tennessee this weekend, and I'm going to take some other visits later this spring."

Rated a 5.7 three-star prospect, Rudolph is rated as the No. 16 overall strongside defensive end in the country by Rivals.com.
