Baylor offered Houston (TX) Cy-Creek 2017 Rivals250 OL Grayson Reed last week.

The Baylor coaches handed out three new offers on the offensive line for the 2017 class this past week. One of the newest offers went to Houston (Texas) Cy-Creek junior offensive tackle Grayson Reed.

Reed recently connected with Baylor assistant Jeff Lebby and the offer followed soon after.

"Coach (Jeff) Lebby and I connected on Twitter a few weeks ago," Reed said. "At first he just invited me to their junior day on Jan. 30th, but then he mentioned that they really liked my tape and wanted to stop by the school. Coach Lebby stopped by last week and got see watch our workouts.

"I thought he was just checking in and giving my coaches information on the junior day, but actually offered me a scholarship. My coaches gave me the good news and I connected with Coach Lebby later that afternoon. He told me they watched my tape and loved how I play the game, liked my size and how well that I move for a lineman my size."

Reed would like to visit Baylor for the junior day later this month, but is still not sure of his visit schedule at the moment.

"I would like to visit Baylor, especially now that they have offered," Reed said. "I have invites to several junior days and they all seem to be scheduled on the same day, or the day after. I probably won't be able to make most of them, but I have looked at the Oklahoma junior day and the Texas A&M junior day so far. Possibly Oklahoma State, but their junior day is right before or right after the Oklahoma junior day.

"I'm sure that I will get around to each school eventually. I plan to attend several camps here in the area as well."

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound tackle is the cousin of former Texas Longhorns defensive end Cedric Reed.

"Cedric (Reed) is my cousin and a lot people assumed that I would commit after Texas offered," Reed said. "I do like Texas, but want to experience the recruiting process for myself and have already built some good relationships with some other coaching staffs.

"There are a lot of schools that I like. Baylor is a great program and have started to be a program that wins the Big12 every season. I'm interested in Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and several other schools like Arizona State and Houston. I want to take my visits and see what each program is like, see what fits me."

Rated a four-star prospect, Reed is the No. 25 offensive tackle, the No. 234 prospect in the latest Rivals 250 national rankings, and the No. 31 prospect on the Rivals.com Texas Postseason Top 100 for the 2017 class.
