The Baylor coaches always had spots to fill on the defensive line in this 2016 recruiting class, but Andrew Billings leaving early for the NFL Draft created a much more urgent need to add players to the defensive line depth.

On Sunday, the coaches made a new offer to Kilgore (Texas) J.C. defensive tackle DeQuinton Osborne - a current UCF commitment.

"I have been talking to the Baylor coaches for a while now," Osborne said. "Coach (Jim) Gush and Coach (Phil) Bennett came up to Kilgore last spring, but then I didn't really hear from them afterwards. When we reconnected, they pretty much told me that after Billings declared for the draft it created some immediate needs on their defensive line.

"They are looking at junior college players that can help right away. I'm still committed to UCF, but I don't know where things stand right now. Everything is up in the air for me."

Osborne will officially visit Baylor this weekend and the coaches will have an opportunity to change his mind.

"I'm going to visit Baylor this weekend," Osborne said. "I really want to see how things feel for me and get a feel for the guys that are already there. I have heard good things about the coaches and want to see everything for myself."

The 6-foot, 280-pound prospect also officially visited Indiana last weekend. He will host coaches from UCF, Indiana, and Baylor for in-home visits this week.

"The UCF coaches are coming to see me tomorrow," Osborne said. "Baylor is coming to see me on Wednesday, then the Indiana coaches are coming to see me on Thursday. My plan is to keep an open mind, then take my visit over the weekend and make my final decision on signing day."

Rated a two-star prospect, Osborne originally graduated from South Grand Prairie in the 2013 class. He will have two years to play two years after graduating from Kilgore J.C. this May. This season, Osborne earned NJCAA First-Team All-American, SWJCFC Conference Defensive MVP, and SWJCFC First-Team All-Conference honors.
