Baylor offered DeSoto (TX) offensive guard Edward Ingram last month.

The Baylor coaches took advantage of the open contact periods in December and January, sending out several new offers to 2017 prospects over the past few months. DeSoto (Texas) offensive guard Edward Ingram is one of the latest junior prospects to add an offer from the Bears.

The standout prospect continues to collect new offers on a weekly basis and now holds 11 total offers with several other programs beginning to show interest.

"Coach (Randy) Clements and Coach (Jeff) Lebby got in touch with me about a month ago," Ingram said. "They watched my highlights and liked how physical I play. Both coaches believe that I fit the bill for being an offensive lineman at Baylor.

"I was excited to get the offer from Baylor, they are winning more games every season and the coaches want to continue winning even more."

The coaches held the program's first junior day on Jan. 30th and hosted dozens of prospects from around the state, including Ingram and his teammate Laviska Shenault.

"I recently visited for their first junior day and it was cool," Ingram said. "It was exciting, they had the uniforms setup in the locker room and it was a party in there. The coaches really put on a show.

"I enjoyed the visit a lot. It reminds me of DeSoto because we have the same colors, the coaches were all very friendly, they have some of the same workouts, and they even run some of the same plays on offense."

Ingram met with head coach Art Briles during the visit and came away feeling like the Baylor coaching staff is very serious about adding him to the program.

"I talked with Coach Briles for a while," Ingram said. "We talked about the academics and the overall opportunity at Baylor, but he really talked about how much they wanted me there at Baylor. Right now, I would say they are my No. 1 school in my book. I need to go and visit more colleges and want to experience the process, but they are No. 1 right now."

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound lineman visited Texas A&M the following day and already has plans to visit Oklahoma, Alabama, and LSU later this spring.

Rated a 5.6 three-star prospect, Ingram is the No. 20 offensive guard in the nation and the No. 75 prospect on the Rivals.com Texas Postseason Top 10o for the 2017 class.
