Baylor lands commit No. 3 for the 2018 class

Bryan offensive tackle Ylijaah Hall took to social media to announce his commitment to Baylor this evening.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound prospect earned his lone offer from Coach Matt Rhule and the Baylor staff last month at the program's first junior day event.

"I loved Baylor and wanted to commit after receiving the offer last month," Hall said. "I just decided to wait and speak with my family, my coaches and my peers before making a decision. I felt at home during the visit, but I'm glad that I waited before committing and thought everything through.

"I felt that I could trust the Baylor coaches and that meant a lot to me because they were the first to offer me a scholarship. I started talking with Coach (George) DeLeone and Coach (Joey) McGuire last month. We have stayed in touch and they have been checking up on me, asking me how things are going and just making sure that I'm doing good."

Hall currently plays left tackle for Bryan, but the Baylor coaches have not talked about a specific role on the offensive line yet.

"We haven't talked about playing tackle or moving around the line, but I'm probably staying at the tackle position," Hall said. "I play left tackle now, but can play both left and right tackle if needed. I spent time reviewing tape with Coach DeLeone during the visit and trust that he will have me prepared for any role on the offensive line."

Hall reached out to the Baylor coaching staff with the good news earlier this evening.

"I told the coaches tonight," Hall said. "I talked with Coach Rhule and he pretty much told me that he cannot wait to get me down there and work with me. The coaches want me to come back down for one of their spring practices and I'm going out there again sometime in April.

"I have already had several of the other coaches messaging me since the announcement, just saying congrats and welcoming me to the family. I'm 100-percent with Baylor, and I feel like it's the right place for me and I can definitely see myself having a future there."

The newest Baylor commitment also sees more than just football when looking at the overall opportunity in Waco.

"The education played a big part too," Hall said. "They showed us the requirements and the setup during my junior day visit last month. They will make you study and I really like the commitment they have to the players. It's a great educational program and I'm excited to learn more about what is available during my next visit."

Currently rated a 5.6 three-star prospect, Hall earned District 18-5A All-District Honorable Mention honors this past season.
