Baylor football spring wrap-up

Baylor concluded its spring practices Saturday with one final scrimmage. Today, SicEmSports wraps up its spring coverage with video interviews, highlights from the scrimmage, a handful of photos and some final words about the spring that was for the Bears.
We start with head coach Art Briles, who might've been more impressed with the turnout at the Highers Complex than he was with his own team. "It just keeps getting better each year," said Briles, who might be tempted to hold future spring scrimmages at the new stadium once it's complete.

Going into the spring, Briles said the QB competition would be open. That doesn't seem to be the case now that spring camp has shut down. Junior Bryce Petty took hold of the job, and, as Briles said, "now it's time to turn potential into reality and into production."
Watch the full Art Briles interview -- along with some game highlights -- below.
We move on to a couple interviews with some seniors in the secondary -- cornerback Joe Williams and safety Ahmad Dixon, who moved over from nickel back before the spring. Williams, who had two picks in the spring game, said he was impressed with the guys in front of him, particularly what everyone expects to be an improved defensive line. "With the quarterback not having much time," Williams said, "and those guys just working, it makes our jobs so much easier."

We close the videos with a one-on-one with one of Baylor's more intriguing players, junior WR Clay Fuller. In his mid-20s, Fuller originally turned pro in baseball, working his way through the minor leagues. The Smithson Valley grad then decided to give football a shot again, joining Baylor as a walk-on.
After tearing it up this past spring, a scholarship may be on the horizon for a guy teammates have nicknamed 'old man". He says he'll use his age and wisdom to his advantage. "I'm not the kind of guy who's going to get in your face, but off the field, I'm there for everybody," he said. Fuller's interview below:
And, finally, a few photos from the scrimmage.
