Fresh off a victory of the former No. 1 team in the country, there's no time to celebrate in Waco. Not with the Bears sitting at 5 wins, needing one more to clinch a bowl berth. But after such a huge win for the program -- the first win over a top-ranked team in Baylor history -- will the Bears avoid a letdown against Texas Tech Saturday in Dallas. That's what SicEmSports debates in this week's Hot Topic.
The Hot Topic
Will Baylor be able to refocus on Texas Tech after Saturday's celebrated win over Kansas State?

The Bears should be fine. They went into Saturday's game convinced they had more to play for than Kansas State, which is amazing in itself but also speaks to their desire to make a bowl for a school-record third season in a row. I expect Baylor to be very focused and to play its best game of the season against Texas Tech.

Art Briles said in the Big 12 coaches call monday that the good thing about this week is that team will be together for Thanksgiving. So the buzz around campus will dissipate around Wednesday afternoon. I think that helps. This program knows what's at stake and it still hasn't done anything except win five games. I have every belief this team is driven to playing in late December. Besides, last year's win over Texas tech doesn't change anything. The Bears still owe the Red Raiders for 15 years of misery.

I don't think the win over KSU was a one-off performance. Maybe it was by the defense, but I think this program is learning -- or has learned -- how to win late in the season. Because of that, I think Baylor can carry the momentum from this win into Saturday's game against Tech. The Bears won't have a letdown. They know how important it is to take advantage of this opportunity and get to a bowl game this weekend. Having said all that, I think this is a tough matchup for Baylor, mostly because of Tech's passing game. Baylor has struggled against good passing attacks. Baylor will have to get similar pressure against Seth Doege as it did against Collin Klein.
